ACCOUNTANT
(Manufacturing & Retail Industry, Harare) – Our client, a reputable manufacturing and Retail firm, is looking for qualified and experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team. The incumbent will be expected to provide senior management with accurate information that aids decision making and to supervise the Accounts department team. Reporting to the Directors, the incumbent will be responsible for the following timely submission of accurate accounting reports to the Directors and Company Owners monthly. Develop, monitor and review departmental accounting policies, procedures and processes. Work hand in hand with the directors with the day to day, monthly and year-end operations of the accounting department including Budget review and analysis. Verify and approve all payment transactions. Maintains and controls the Ledger Accounts and business transactions of the company, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices are paid accurately in accordance with Finance policies and procedures. Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable – ensure that revenues and receivables are reconciled. Prepare, analyse and reconcile the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports per department. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses. Review reports of subordinates as well as general supervision of the subordinates. Attend to both internal and external Auditors and ensure that audits are conducted as planned. Ability to communicate across all levels of management. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Pastel and Microsoft Office packages.
Qualifications: Degree in Accounting; Professional qualifications ACCA would be an added advantage. Must be available to start immediately.
